On Wednesday, July 29, 2016, the “Focus Career” course set off for Schafhof II. There was a company tour of the company “Loxxess” with the company bus and two lecturers. As a logistics expert, the Loxxess company is a figurehead in the region; The Ebermannsdorf location is primarily responsible for supplying production to two Siemens plants. In total, the logistics company is represented in more than 20 locations in Germany alone.
Warehouse logistics lecturer Rainer Riedl led the group from the ISE Language and Vocational Training Center through the logistics center and explained a variety of work processes. The experienced logistics specialist also had a lot to say about the company's history. The course participants were interested and had questions about every step of the process. The course – consisting of repatriates, refugees and migrants from a wide range of countries – was particularly impressed by the fully automated camp area, which no longer requires any human intervention.
In addition to continually improving German language skills, the six-month course also imparts knowledge in the practical areas of warehouse logistics, sales and maintenance. The five-person team of lecturers led by course leader Thomas Renner supports the motivated migrants in their job search, imparts knowledge of the requirements of working life in Germany and consolidates key qualifications on the way to employment subject to social security contributions. The lecturers use their various skills to support the participants in their job search, improve their language skills, help with bureaucratic problems and thus make an important contribution to the cultural and social integration of their new fellow citizens.
What is particularly pleasing is that several course participants managed to successfully enter the world of work in the first half of the course. In this way, the educational institution ISE was able to help with the successful search for work or a training position.
