Nursing staff urgently needed: Nursing qualifications enable future-proof prospects

Amberg. In December 2023, almost 5 million people in Germany were in need of care, with the trend continuing to rise. In order to meet the increasing demand for nursing staff, the ISE language and vocational training center has now successfully carried out nursing qualifications in Amberg for the 12th time. What is particularly noteworthy is the participation of some refugee women from Ukraine and the good overall result of the measure. At the certificate award ceremony, the job center and ISE praised the participants for their good to very good performance.

There are now long waiting lists for inpatient and outpatient care in our region too. In order to meet this need, far more nursing staff are necessary.

The qualification to become a nursing assistant started for the twelfth time in Amberg in October 2023. At the certificate award ceremony, managing director Richard Kirschner emphasized the good career prospects and the importance of lifelong learning. Rainer Liermann, team leader of the Amberg-Sulzbach job center, praised the perseverance and specialist knowledge of the graduates. In his closing speech, course leader Thomas Klein spoke about the challenges and emphasized the strong cohesion of the group during the nine-month qualification.

The graduates also thanked the course leader and the lecturers of the nursing qualification with an entry in the souvenir album: “Thank you for everything, for the support, care and the knowledge you have learned!” 14 participants successfully completed the qualification. Three of them will begin training in nursing in September, and one graduate will start a job subject to social insurance contributions at the Sulzbach-Rosenberg retirement home in August. The remaining graduates have promising career prospects in regional retirement homes.

The qualification measure was financed 50% by the European Social Fund and 20% by state funds as well as the Amberg-Sulzbach job center and the ISE language and vocational training center. With the final certificate and the specialist knowledge they have acquired, graduates have a good basis for a secure professional future in the nursing industry.

Liermann emphasized that thanks to the advice of his employment agents, more and more citizens' benefit recipients, both German and foreign, are opting for qualifications and employment in nursing.
