Start instead of waiting – a measure to impart advanced professional qualifications.

The measure “Start instead of waiting” serves to impart advanced professional qualifications and will be offered for the first time from October 6th, 2014 at the ISE Language and Vocational Training Center in Amberg at Kaiser-Ludwig-Ring 9. As part of professional orientation and activation, the course includes application training, a computer introduction or refresher and instruction in labor law topics. Furthermore, participants receive a wide range of information on the topics of work and career. An insight into different professional fields as well as the transfer of knowledge is individual and participant-oriented. Company visits to various companies are also part of the course program. In addition to the important knowledge transfer, a company internship is planned. Our internal employment agent will support you during the course with both your internship and job search. You will also benefit from the ISE Language and Vocational Training Center's numerous contacts with companies and institutions.

Course content:

Professional orientation and activation

  • Situation on the regional and national labor market
  • Trends in the economy, requirements on the labor market; Data, figures and facts
  • Recognize (hidden) talents and refresh existing professional expertise
  • Work trials (duration up to one week)

Application training

  • Application and contact options (Internet, regional and national daily newspapers, trade newspapers, responsible chambers, blind applications, other media, various job exchanges)
  • Review of your documents or support in preparing the necessary application documents (cover letter, cover sheet, CV)
  • Advantages and disadvantages of different types of applications (written application, online application, blind application), telephone conversation training
  • The interview
    (Preparation, time and travel planning, interviewing, question and answer techniques, correct argumentation techniques, role plays, interviews in companies)
  • Self-marketing

  • Learning and refreshing PC and Internet skills
  • Research using the Internet
  • Word processing
  • Spreadsheet Excel
  • Note: The instruction in the above-mentioned Topics depend on the learning speed of the participants

Employment Law

  • Rights and obligations from the employment contract, e.g. B. correct behavior in the workplace, reporting and confidentiality obligations

  • Alternative forms of employment and working time models (temporary work, self-employment, telework, flextime, short-time work, fixed-term employment relationships, etc.)

Operating experience

  • As part of the course, a six-week internship takes place.
  • The search for a suitable internship position takes place during the specialist theory.
  • The participants' own initiative is encouraged and required.
  • The ISE supports all participants in finding an internship.

We will support you in your job search while you take part in the measure

  • on the employment agency website (job exchange)
  • on the websites of various companies
  • through our numerous contacts with regional employers
  • based on regional and national newspapers
  • If necessary, we will accompany you to interviews
  • We support you in obtaining work-relevant documents (e.g. references, translations, certificates)
  • Follow-up support: Even after the course, we will support you – if necessary – in finding suitable jobs.

We help you deal with problem situations:

  • Special help for participants with learning difficulties
  • Use of learning groups
  • Debt advice (if necessary)
  • You will receive technical and social-educational support throughout the duration of the program.

Further important information about the course:

  • The costs of the measures are explained in the training contract. There are no costs for holders of an education voucher.
  • The cost of the measure includes the costs for specialist literature provided.
  • Worksheets are provided to participants free of charge.
  • The number of hours for teaching advanced professional skills is 480. 160 hours are planned for the company internship.
  • The participants receive an ISE certificate and a certificate of participation with the detailed course content.
  • If necessary, the costs for work clothing (company internship) will be covered by ISE.
