An AVGS measure for refugees and migrants
The ISE language and vocational training center prepares refugees and migrants for everyday working life by teaching “German welding and metal”. The focus of the measure is linguistic preparation for the metal and welding qualification module as well as teaching the necessary vocabulary in welding and metal technology. Customers of the employment agency and the job center can take part in this knowledge transfer with an activation and placement voucher.
Course content:
Part A: Linguistic preparation for the metal qualification module
- Reading drawings and working from drawings
- Select material: copper, aluminum and steels
- Work preparation: Select and prepare machines, auxiliary and operating resources
- Manual skills such as measuring, marking, drilling, reaming, countersinking, sawing
- Manual sheet metal processing such as shearing, reaming, countersinking, folding and sheet metal unwinding
- Bending of components
- Create force-fitting and form-fitting connections
- Manufacture of metal utensils
- Dispose of waste and residues
- Workplace safety and accident prevention measures
- Calculating at work

- Each participant can acquire basic language skills in job-related German and acquire a solid basic vocabulary in welding and metal technology.
- Timeframe: The course lasts 8 weeks. This includes 320 teaching units.
- Aptitude test: At the end of the course, participants complete a written aptitude test for the metal qualification module in conjunction with the basic metal gas welding qualification.
- Confirmation of participation: At the end, each participant receives a written confirmation of their participation in the knowledge transfer in German metal and welding.
- The ISE provides extensive social-educational support throughout the entire measure, which contributes to achieving the goal of the measure.
