Imparting knowledge in the hotel and catering industry with job-related German (AVGS) (Also available for clients with literacy needs)

An AVGS measure for refugees and migrants

The ISE language and vocational training center prepares refugees and migrants for everyday working life by teaching “German in the hotel and restaurant industry” (also for customers who need literacy). Customers of the employment agency and the job center can take part in this knowledge transfer with an activation and placement voucher.

Each participant can acquire basic language skills in work-related German and acquire a solid basic vocabulary in the hotel and catering industry.

Course content:

• Communication with guests and colleagues in German
• Looking for an apartment near the place of work, commuting to the place of work
• Punctuality and reliability, sick leave
• Express problems and wishes at work
• Manners and communication training
• Correct behavior at work in a team, with superiors and guests
• Plan, agree and coordinate work processes
• Understanding operational plans, teamwork in the workplace
• Deepening social skills
• Work tasks in the kitchen
• Selected foods and their components
• Small and large devices, machines
• Work clothing, work equipment, objects and kitchen appliances
• Greet and say goodbye to guests in the restaurant
• Understand and resolve guest questions and complaints
• make recommendations
• Accept room and table reservations
• Provide information about the hotel and attractions
• General activities in the restaurant
• Hygiene regulations in the restaurant

Timeframe: The course lasts 8 weeks.
This includes 320 teaching units.

Certification: The ISE Language and Vocational Training Center is an approved provider under employment promotion law. Approved by the expert body of TÜV Rheinland Cert GmbH – a certification body accredited by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS).
