What is a basic qualification?
Since 2009, anyone who wants to transport or transport goods or people for a living needs a so-called basic qualification.
Three paths lead to this goal:
- Basic qualification:
A theoretical and practical exam lasting a total of 450 minutes. (No teaching requirement) - The accelerated basic qualification:
Compulsory participation in 140 hours of lessons followed by a 90-minute written exam. (The practical part of the exam is completely omitted.) - The traditional vocational training to become a professional driver or further training to become a driving specialist.
The exam is taken at the relevant Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK), which is determined based on the residence principle. For the basic qualification you do not have to have the corresponding driving license class.
Goal:
In order to better understand the content of the basic qualification, we offer a preliminary language course that is intended to eliminate relevant language barriers and prepare you for participation in terms of content. Furthermore, this measure serves to prepare for the acquisition of the class D/DE bus driving license or the class C/CE truck driving license.
This makes passing the IHK exam much easier. The IHK examination must be taken exclusively in German. The prerequisite for participation in this course is a language level B1 and previous possession of a class B driving license.
After consultation with the job center or the employment agency, a participant with a language level A2 can be admitted to the course. The total number of hours of the language course is 320 teaching hours. There are 8 lessons every day from Monday to Friday.
At the end of the course, participants complete an aptitude test for the accelerated basic qualification.
Contents:
- Acquisition of job-related communicative skills:
Dealing with customers and colleagues
Role plays, e.g.: Conversation with superiors
- Technical language exam preparation for the accelerated basic qualification (bus driver, truck driver in freight transport) with subject-specific topics, e.g.:
Kinematic chain
(Security) technology
Passenger safety and comfort
