On the mountain. (usc) Even though bus travel is currently suffering from Corona restrictions, bus and transport companies are still looking for young drivers. There is great interest in this among refugees, migrants and locals. The basic training for obtaining a driving license takes place at the ISE language and vocational training center, supported by the job center and the employment agency.

One run lasts eight weeks. If there are still language problems and technical deficits, another eight weeks of lessons will follow. During this time, the customers of the job center and the employment agency are prepared for the difficult exam at the IHK. You will receive both linguistic and technical training. Otherwise, ISE, in cooperation with the VAZ, manages and monitors the completion of all formalities that are necessary to obtain approval from the driving license office for the acquisition of classes C/CE (truck) or D/DE (bus).

The traffic training center i. d. Opf. GmbH (VAZ). After qualifying at VAZ, ISE places people in jobs. ISE also provides social-educational support for the participants during and after the measure to help them deal with everyday problems.

So far, according to ISE education coordinator Peter Blendowski, 35 interested parties, including some women, have successfully completed the eight-week preparatory courses for truck or bus driving licenses. The job center and employment agency appreciate these educational measures, as Blendowski gratefully noted. ISE was able to offer the first of these courses in August 2018.

Jürgen Heining, Managing Director of VAZ i. d. Oberpfalz, spoke about top preparation by ISE at the last course conclusion. "We are very satisfied. And we will hire someone again after the next driving test,” assured Anne Wagner from the Richard Wagner shipping company. Jörg Bruckner from the bus company of the same name expressed himself similarly positively. “Despite the setback to travel caused by Corona, bus drivers are still wanted,” he said. “We welcome these programs and have already hired five people from these courses,” he emphasized. City-Bus Linzer also made adjustments.

Of the 35 participants in the accelerated basic qualification and bus or truck training, 18 have already found permanent employment as drivers, others are still waiting for the remaining test results and have already received binding employment commitments from various companies, according to Blendowski's positive results.
