At the second job and education fair “JoBi.regional”, job and training place seekers used the extensive information offered by companies, state institutions and educational institutions to shape their professional future.
On the mountain. (usc) After the success of the first trade fair last year in terms of visitor frequency and contracts concluded, the offering at the new edition in the premises of the ISE Language and Vocational Training Center was also in high demand. Rainer Liermann from the co-organizing job center AM-AS summed up the current situation succinctly: “Employers are desperately looking for staff. Use the information!” was his appeal to visitors at the opening.
The work and education working group of the Intercommunal Alliance for Migration and Integration of the city of Amberg and the Amberg-Sulzbach district, together with the alliance of regional education providers, organized the job and education fair with a comprehensive range of information and education for interested people of all ages after weeks of preparation. who are looking for a job or training position, want to reorient themselves professionally or want to take advantage of the wide-ranging educational program offered by local educational institutions.
Over 30 well-known companies and institutions were present and were available to visitors for targeted discussions regarding open training and job positions, as well as educational providers and public institutions such as employment agencies, job centers and the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees.
Training and further education providers such as Eckert Schools, Kolping Education Center, ISE Language and Vocational Training Center, ISE Vocational School for Nursing, VAZ Transport Training Center and Maxhütte Technologie Vocational Training Center came together to showcase the diversity of educational offerings in Amberg and the district at the trade fair to document.
“Many companies in this country are returning very lucrative orders because they do not have sufficient workers,” reported Mayor Michael Cerny at the opening of the trade fair. He underlined the increasing importance of SAGE, i.e. social work, health and care as well as education. SAGE is on a par with MINT (Masthmatic, Iinformatics, Nnatural science and Ttechnology). “We need people who are willing to continue their training,” emphasized Cerny, who championed the “wonderful profession of nursing.”
Deputy District Administrator Peter Braun thanked the initiators of the JoBi trade fair. “If they didn’t exist yet, we would have to invent them,” he complimented those responsible. Braun is certain that the shortage of skilled workers will be with us for years to come. It is astonishing that the public service is no longer as popular as it used to be. “The job market offers endless opportunities,” is the experience of Manfred Tröppl, managing director of the AM-AS job center. “Skilled workers are needed at all levels and in all sectors.” He advised those interested to have in-depth discussions at the trade fair, with mobility and childcare being a big topic at the moment.
As a conclusion to the second job and education fair, ISE Managing Director Richard Kirschner stated at the end of the day: “According to feedback from the exhibitors, there is general satisfaction with the visitor frequency and the interest of the fair visitors. In addition, many school classes also took advantage of the 'JoBi.regional' offer this year." According to Kirschner, a lot of good discussions were once again held between employers and potential employees and trainees; Contact addresses were then exchanged.” Many employment and training relationships will certainly be concluded in the future. The seminars at the Amberg employment agency, the AM-AS job center and the ISE Amberg nursing school were well attended.
