In October last year, an ECDL course began at the ISE language and vocational training center in Amberg, which was expanded to include knowledge of Linux and network technology. The course participants were both part-time and full-time employees who began the course with a wide range of previous knowledge. For course leader Max Schobert, this posed an organizational challenge because the lessons had to be designed in terms of time and content so that all course participants could grasp all the training content and ultimately pass the final module exams.
Going to school after many years of work
Go to school every day? That was once. And now learn again and maybe repeat or practice something at home? For some of the course participants, this was a thought that had not initially occurred to them. Admittedly, this is an unusual situation, considering that some course participants have already worked for 20 years or more.
The exam, which was held centrally and online, was an additional challenge for many course participants because of the nature of the questions, especially since an exam was only considered passed if 75 percent of the questions were answered correctly. The results of the individual exams and the entire course must be praised all the more. In all module exams, more than 85 percent of the course participants passed the tests. “It was sensational how the course participants supported each other,” praised course leader Max Schobert and also confirmed that many participants passed their exams thanks to the harmony in the course and their own hard work. “As a lecturer, it is rare for you to experience such a familiar and pleasant atmosphere in a course within a very short space of time and without exception, over the entire duration of the course.”
The ISE door is open
The course participants are also welcome at the ISE after the course ends. The ISE employment agents will support the remaining course participants in finding work even after the course ends, if this is desired. The management and the entire ISE staff team congratulate the course participants on their certificates and wish them all the best for their professional and private future.
