Opportunity for older people – joy, friends, knowledge and new perspectives!

The “Chance for Older People” measure, in which we as students were able to take part, is now ending after three months. The course took place at the ISE Language and Vocational Training Center in Amberg (Kaiser-Ludwig-Ring 9, near the train station). In November - at the beginning of the course - each and every one of us asked ourselves the same questions: "What's in store for me?", "What can I expect?", "Who will I meet there?" and "Will I have fun?" “.

Our initial skepticism quickly gave way to the surprise of finding a very nice group who were able to work together impressively well and in a comradely manner.

The ISE language and vocational training center offered us very broad and interesting lessons. We were able to refresh and improve our mathematics knowledge through many exercises, we got to know typical areas of activity in warehouse logistics and were able to get to know some important application programs in computer lessons through “learning by doing”. The curriculum repertoire also included topics in the areas of nursing, home economics and economics. There was really something for everyone: topics from the commercial and social areas, application techniques as well as German and communication. Each of us also completed a short internship in our respective area of interest.

The pleasant, collegial teaching atmosphere as well as the very nice and understanding lecturers gave us a lot of fun and joy. With good advice and an always open ear, course leader Katharina Kruckenberger has been there to support us every day over the last three months. We look back on the past few weeks with joy. Because now we know again what it means to be motivated, to learn new things and, above all, to tackle new things.
