80 percent in progress during the course

On September 14, 2009, 15 participants came to the ISE Language and Vocational Training Center on Frommstrasse in Sulzbach-Rosenberg to acquire the European Computer Driving License (ECDL) including an additional module “Linux and Network”. The course included the following modules:

  • Module 1: Basics of information technology
  • Module 2: Computer Use and File Management (Operating System)
  • Module 3: Word processing
  • Module 4: Spreadsheets
  • Module 5: Database
  • Module 6: Presentation
  • Module 7: Information and communication (Internet, WWW, email)

After four of the seven modules had been successfully passed, the ECDL Start certificate was acquired and the ECDL Advanced level of knowledge was certified with all seven modules.

The ECDL creates a uniform training standard. Unlike a simple certificate, the ECDL certificate clearly shows what knowledge and skills a participant has. This is also the value of the ECDL certificate for the participants and for the company's human resources departments. The ECDL belongs in every application folder. Another plus point is the international recognition of the certificate.

Practical but not entirely without theory

It is worth mentioning that great emphasis is placed on imparting knowledge in a practical manner, but it cannot be done entirely without theory. Thanks to intensive preparation, almost all participants were able to pass the exams for the individual modules on the first attempt.

Already during the ECDL training, many participants (80%) managed to find a suitable job and thus achieved the primary goal of any further training.

The ECDL course ended on March 12, 2010. The lecturers from the ISE Language and Vocational Training Center Erwin Aigner, Andreas Baumann and Max Schobert, together with the course leader Josef Gebhardt, congratulate the participants on the successful completion of the course and wish them all the best for their future personal and professional life.
